“Iceland Adventure”

September 8-16, 2018

Iceland is a country known for its natural wonders: glaciers, active volcanoes, black-sand beaches, geothermal areas, roaring rivers, majestic waterfalls, and beautiful lakes. On our Iceland Adventure, we will start and end in Reykjavík, and witness these natural wonders while enjoying fun and unique experiences.

Scenic highlights include mighty Gullfoss waterfall and Goðafoss, known as the "Waterfall of the Gods." Take pictures at Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe (road conditions permitting). Drive by Eyjafjallajökull volcano, well known for the eruption that generated the massive ash cloud in 2010, and through the national park at Skaftafell to Vik. Enjoy a scenic drive to the lovely blue Lake Mývatn. In one of Iceland's prettiest areas and with volcanic craters throughout the lake, it is teeming with bird life and is known for its geothermal activity. Also watch how Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull, flows into Lake Jökulsárlón, forming icebergs.

In Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walk through the rift valley that marks the separation between the North American and European tectonic plates. In Geysir, walk with the chef of the Geysir restaurant through the geothermal areas, where you'll taste freshly baked bread cooked using the heat from the hot springs. You'll wash it down with a glass of geysir schnapps. Other unique and unforgettable experiences are a boat cruise to see whales in their natural habitat and a peaceful afternoon at the Blue Lagoon, an incredible geothermal spa, set in an otherwordly area where lava and thermal water meet. These are just some of the many highlights of this Iceland Adventure Tour!

“Treasures of the Pharaohs and Jordan”

October 24 - November 5, 2019

Ancient wonders, endless golden sands, and atmospheric local souqs make Egypt the ultimate travel destination.  From the enigmatic aura of the Sphinx, to the imposing glory of the Pyramids, step into the Land of the Pharaohs and discover the exotic charms of Egypt.  Imagine cruising on the Nile, just as Cleopatra and Marc Anthony did centuries ago.  The amazing thing is you will see the same sights they saw when they cruised—except you are doing it in air-conditioned luxury aboard a modern small ship.  This adventure includes the last remaining “wonder” of the Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids and Great Sphinx of Giza.  We will fly to Amman, Jordan and upon arrival journey by coach to the Dead Sea-the lowest point on the face of the Earth, here we will have the opportunity to experience the “healing waters” of this remarkable “natural health spa” before continuing on to Petra. The tour includes a visit to Petra, the ancient “Rose Red” city; we will walk the Siq - a narrow gorge that leads into the city- emerging dramatically in front of the Treasury!  Petra is an amazing archaeological site from the ancient world and a great way to end our “Treasures of the Pharaohs Tour and Jordan”. Limited space available.
